I planned for an easy run today. This week's training schedule is hectic. I was unable to do my long run yesterday and as I began to look at my schedule for this week, I realized that I couldn't do it today either, so I went short. On the schedule is one short run and 2 long runs this week, plus I have a 5k race on Saturday. Therefore, the schedule was altered. I was off work today and got caught up in other things to do. Was going to scrap the run altogether when a friend challenged me to go for it. As I was driving to my running route, I challenged myself to make this run different. I succeeded!! It was warm out, but nice breeze and clouds made the run pleasurable. I chose the "in town" route. Little quaint town, tree lined streets, park, unique houses; interesting sights. I ran my 2 miles faster than usual. Kept the music at a faster pace and focused on my feet and keeping my shoulders out of my ears. Before I knew it, my run was done, I felt awesome and was glad I listened to my friend. Tomorrow, another 2 miles.
