So, my first half marathon is under my belt. I took a few days off from training due to being sick. Today, I decide to get back to my running and training for my next half. I haven't been on the treadmill working on my speed in a while so that is where I started. Turned up the music and jumped on the treadmill. I quickly realized that I am already faster than I use to be. In the past, I would start running at a speed of 5.5 and work my way up. I couldn't believe how slow that seemed to me. I bumped it up to 6 and started my speed work. I ran 3 miles and hit a top speed of 8.4. My fastest had been 8. I felt great and strong once I finished. I did 3 sets of planks holding for 1 minute each and finished with some delts and biceps. Great workout and ready for my long run this weekend.
