Running Blog: week in review

I haven't gone for a run this week and I am missing it. I started boot camp on Monday and due to barely being able to walk, my run was canceled. Boot Camp is 3 days a week for 6 weeks. I love boot camp because it works different muscles and really pushes me in a different way than running does.
Monday's class was awesome. I figured I would be a little sore but not too bad. Tuesday I felt great but by that night, I was beginning to get sore. Wednesday morning was painful!! My quads and butt hurt so bad it hurt to move. Walking was not a pretty sight. I am sure it appeared as though I had a stick up my butt. The worst part, another boot camp that night. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to participate. I went and the warm up run was not pleasant. After 15 minutes I was feeling pretty good. The majority of that class was running and upper body work. After the class, I realized my soreness was gone.

Thanks to my schedule being packed on Thursday and Friday, there was no time for a run. I am itching to get back out for a long run. I need to go this weekend and buy new running shoes. My plan is go for a short run tomorrow and pound out a long one on Sunday. I need to work out my schedule to keep up with my runs yet keep up with boot camp as well.

My next 5k is next Sunday. I am running through the zoo. Then I have a 1/2 marathon in 3 weeks. Running through wooded path admiring the colors of the leaves; can't wait!!!!
